What is heraldry, you ask? Why, it’s what the heralds do! Silliness aside, it is something that affects every aspect of our medieval life in the SCA. Heraldry is the beauty of a pavilion on the tourney field, decorated in its owner’s colors, with fighter and consort standing in front in full heraldic clothing and gear. It’s the pomp and circumstance of a grand procession, announcing each participant with full rank and titles. It’s the authenticity of a well-researched name, that could easily have belonged to a person in our time period. It’s the call to a fighter to take up arms and defend the honor of their house. It’s the voice behind the thrones, ringing out to declare the good deeds being rewarded. Heraldry is all of these things and much more. The is dedicated to nurturing the use of heraldry throughout the Kingdom of Trimaris.
